Deale International Recalls CasaClean Handheld Steamers Due to Risk of Serious Burn Injury; Sold Exclusively on HSN Recall Summary Name of Product: CasaClean Handheld Steamers Hazard: The steamers can leak steam or spew hot boiling water, posing a risk of serious burn injury to users. Remedy: Refund Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled handheld steamers and contact Deale for instructions on how to safely cut the cord near the base of the machine to provide proof of destruction and to receive a refund. Consumers must take a photo of the cord that is cut near the base of the machine and upload the photo, along with their contact information, to the Recall Request form at www.thedeale.com/pages/casaclean-safety-recall to receive the refund. Recall Details Units: About 23,000 Description: This recall involves CasaClean Handheld Steamers with model number DF-958. The recalled steamers were sold in white/gray and blue/gray colors. The recalled steamers are intended to remove dirt, grease and limescale in various household areas. The recalled steamers are comprised of a water tank, a cap, a valve assembly, a hose, a hose clamp and an exit nozzle. The CasaClean logo is in silver finish on the right face of the steamer. The model number is listed on a large black bar on the product rating sticker on the bottom of the machine.
Incidents/Injuries: Deale has received 26 reports of the recalled steamers leaking water or steam, including causing 13 burns to consumers.
To remediate the affected products, Deale International, LLC is offering a $39.99 refund. Refunds will be delivered in up to 6 weeks from submission of information.
If you own one of the models subject to this voluntary recall, we kindly ask that you:
Step 1. Stop using the CasaClean handheld steamer immediately and unplug the machine. Search for the model number by turning the machine over and looking at the product rating label sticker on the bottom of the machine. The number will be listed on a large black bar on the product rating label. If your unit is subject to the recall, please take a photo of the product information sticker, and go to step 2.
Step 2. With the product unplugged, carefully remove the product label from the bottom of the machine. Once removed, place the label on the side of machine just above the CasaClean logo. If you cannot remove the product label continue to cut the cord and through steps 3 and 4. After the label has been stuck to the side of the machine, use standard scissors to cut the cord near the base of the machine. Take a photo verifying the product label and cut cord. If the CasaClean steamer was purchased in a multi-pack, or if you have more than one product, please complete this form for each individual product. For example, if you have two products, you must submit two separate forms. Reference photo below.
Step 3. Fill out the form below or contact Deale International to request a refund.
Step 4. Once you have received your refund, please dispose of your original CasaClean steam cleaner. Do not dispose of your original CasaClean steam cleaner before receiving your refund.
